I hope that Wanda rests in the knowledge that her work had purpose and meaning. Her successful recruitment of 100s of providers, directly and indirectly touched countless lives in rural North Carolina. People were able to: see a provider, get treatment, manage a chronic disease, perform better in school, stay healthy, live longer and more productive lives as a direct result of her work. Wanda was the ultimate professional in the way she interacted with communities, providers and the way she approached her work. I am richer having had the opportunity to work with her.
